This flower is most valuable on account of its remarkably late flowering in September and October when most other flowers are long-gone. Common to woodland edges and recently-disturbed shaded sites, Ageratina altissima reaches 2-4’ in height on strong, branching stems. In late summer to fall, pure white flowers appear in flat-topped, branching clusters. Ageratina altissima commonly called white snakeroot, is native to woodland areas in the Eastern United States.
